Depends on when your body is truly "ready". I sat at 5cm for the last 3 weeks of pregnancy and even through weeks of prodromal labor, I made it to 6cm before they broke my water and forced labor to start. Baby girl was born in an hr. I don't have an answer but I'm in a similar situation. I'm 1 cm and 50% effaced.
