Just took the surgery COMAT yesterday. I used COMQUEST and it seemed to be pretty representative of what was on the test. There were a few questions that were nearly exact. Most of the COMAT questions were "next best diagnostic test" or "next best step in management". I think if you used the qbanks regularly, you would be more ready for the boards than looking at the comat scores. COMAT exams were, very easy compared to the boards.

The only thing that makes it hard is the vague and poorly worded questions and bizarre topics they’ll test you on. Either way, our school requires 75th percentile to honor. Our school gives almost no weight to shelf, only need ~30th percentile on shelf with honors level clinical evals to get honors on the clerkship. Similarly, a perfect score on shelf cannot raise a high pass clinical evals to honors for the clerkship.

So an 80 on COMAT gets recorded as a 70 on your grade (minimum to "pass the COMAT"), a 105 as a 95 and a 110 or above is just 100 in the grade book. To honor you need an overall score of 95%, with at least a 90% on both the eval and COMAT.FM is a lot of screening and preventative care (know vaccines, age of screening, etc) but it definitely helps to have IM before.
