The basic conclusion I've come to, and pretty much anyone else I've talked with directly about it, is that The Lost Frontier had solid, if not exceptional, concepts and ideas, but the execution of those ideas was awful. But not to the extent that it's a "bad game", it was actually a pretty decent and fun PSP game, but it was a terrible Jak game .
The only miss-able items other than the orbs in Aeropa seem to be a chest and three orbs behind the waterfall in Far Drop right before the orphanage and the orbs during the Daxter ball sections, also in Far Drop (just have the blue reveal secrets power beforehand and it'll point them all out for you).
