LRB and Bula are generally considered the best builders of forged receivers. A good M14 is as reliable as an M1. I would say a Springfield M1A falls in that category. I am with the others here: take advantage of Springfield's warranty and don't change a bunch of parts out. They have not made them in 35 plus years…so they are collectors items, esp the folding stock version. I'm looking into getting an M1A/M14 with tax return season approaching.
